I’ve been going to Work It studio for over 4 years. So there are endless things to say. All of the nice words that have been written on the reviews about this place are so true! I am the person who can’t stay or gets satisfied with a routinary life but somehow in my situation now, I felt stuck in some areas of my life but going to Work It made it different, fun and adventurous so they became one of my constants. It’s not only the workout (technical part) I love about this place, it’s the camaraderie between students and teachers (especially for every competition, it’s so amazing how they support each other), the teachers/instructors, the way they teach, it shows how they really care for you, especially our pole mom and dad (amazing and awesome owners & instructors). They listen to you, whatever your concern is and they try to do something about it. Like the morning classes they added on week days which really worked for me. They want you to be at your best (strong, healthy and confident). They are not there for money. So, they became my family. There were times I am absent for a while but still keep on coming back.
With what we (the whole world) are experiencing right now, amidst all the chaos brought us by the global CoronaVirus pandemic, they still think about us. So to fight the boredom of being locked down and keep us healthy and strong while we stay at home, they offered these virtual classes. The same as regular classes they teach. It is as fun as being in the studio. It feels like there’s a real interaction between the students and the instructors. Plus it is more flexible time-wise since we all can do it anytime we want if in case we missed it or how many times we want to since you can see the post after the live. So being in touch with them and being able to still do some of my normal activities before the lockdown happened, makes me feel normal and alive. Helps with my sanity😆 Sorry my longest review ever! What happens when you’re locked down.

Michelle is amazing. Our group did a private class today and had a great time. Michelle took us out of our comfort zone, got us engaged, and turned our group into well-oiled performers (ha). Lots of laughs, exercise, and fun. Book a class(es) with Michelle. You'll learn some new skills, get fit, and love it.

Yesterday I sauntered in at 9:45 with wide eyed anticipation. Mind you I had to press getting there by means of public transportation 3 or 4 towns away. I was greeted by Michelle the owner who is a bubbly breath of fresh air; especially after my ordeal. Then there is Tava...do not sleep her. She comes across all aloof exuding grace and poise, she gets you behind that curtain, class begins, and it is a cresendo into the sultry world of "BELLY DANCE". Oh yes she starts off slow next thing the tempo increases I utter uh uh she laughs. Total experience AWESOME.

I live 45 minutes away from Work it, and i don't' like to drive long distances. I make this drive every week, without fail. Taking the burlesque and diva pole classes there is so amazing. Everyone is so nice and friendly. The difference in my body is amazing. I'm getting stronger and losing weight. If you're in the area, and even if you're not, you need to come check out Work it Dance and Fitness, you will absolutely love it,

I've taken a bunch of the classes here, by myself and with my husband or with friends, and here's my take:
Tone and Tighten: It works. I am actually getting stronger! Class works well for all levels of fitness. Michelle is an excellent motivator.
Flexibility and Injury Prevention: I still have a ways to go before I'm remotely flexible, but this class has pushed me in the right direction! Michelle is great at making sure everyone is being challenged at their own level.
Pole: I love Pole Fitness! The Beginner Pole class really depends on who shows up to take the class -- sometimes it's only a couple people, in which case the class is very much tailored to the participants, sometimes there's a big group of girls coming for a fun night out, in which case there might be more giggling than usual, but it can be a blast. Pole Flow is still beyond my level, but I had a great time watching the more advanced students do some really impressive stuff (Paula even adjusted the choreography for me so I could learn a beginner version).
Burlesque: I feel a little silly doing it, but it's a lot of fun, and Michelle is a great teacher.
Belly dance: Tava is one of the best belly dancers in the tri-state area, and an excellent teacher. I've done many years of belly dance and led the Yale Belly Dance Society administratively for some time, and I recommend Tava to everyone now.
People: The real reason I go here -- everyone is very friendly, welcoming, patient, and fun. Also, dance and working out is how I de-stress, and I like the chill vibe of Work It.
General: Great location. The late policy is rough (if you're late, can't get in), but I understand the need for it. I like the fact that all the classes are basically a "walk-in" structure since that works well with my random schedule, but it means that there sometimes isn't as much continuity. However, the teachers are good at adjusting the teaching to the individual students.
Hope this helps!

I have been going to Work It Dance and Fitness for several months now, and I absolutely love it! The owner, Michelle, is so warm, welcoming and motivating, that I immediately felt at ease the first time I went, and I've been hooked ever since. I would never think of myself as looking FORWARD to a workout, but I find myself eagerly waiting to come "play" at Work It after I get out of my job. And even on the days I'd rather be a couch potato, Michelle's enthusiasm instantly takes over when I get there and makes me happy that I went! I love their "tone and tighten" class, which has really shaped my body and those trouble zones, and even without any experience, I love their pole classes! Because of their classes, my friends have complimented my toned arms and my much flatter stomach (my favorite perk). They also have dance classes, belly dancing, stretch classes, zumba, and more! Come check it out, and you will NOT regret it! There is something for everyone!

Learning to pole dance can be well, scary, these guys make it fun and are great teachers! They offer many other classes but the pole is what I go there for. Pricing good too.

I am by no means a professional dancer of ANY kind, nor have I ever considered myself a great dancer. I really just wanted to have some fun and get a decent workout. WELL, I got all that and much, much more. The teachers at Work It make the classes so much fun you don't even realize what an amazing workout you are getting until it's over! And they always instruct you while making you feel confident in your abilities at the same time. I have taken Bellydance, pole dancing and Burlesque classes and continue to be challenged every week. I highly recommend Work It Dance and Fitness as an amazing place to have fun, get fit, and just ENJOY!!!!

I love this place! I've wanted to take pole classes for years and finally jumped in. Michelle, Liz and Erika are incredible instructors. Pole is hard, but they make it super accessible and FUN! I have no background in dance or gymnastics but here I am taking classes and it feels so good when you get new spin and the instructors and others students are excited for you too. Not only do I feel like I am accomplishing a challenge, but it gives me huge stress relief. One of the best workouts I have ever done. And to help support your pole adventures, they also have toning, strengthening, and flexibility classes, all great classes! Highly recommend. Go yourself, go with friends, or go have a arty there.
