    Very beautiful main square
Central Square in Trogir is the main square of the old town (also called John Paul II Square) in this little and Venetian-style town, near Split, in the Center of Dalmatian Coast. It is a very beautiful square, where there are some important buildings like the Cathedral, St. Sebastian Chapel, the Town Hall, the Loggia Building and some others. Really, it is one of the best places in the town, where you see all the town powder in the past years. (See also John Paul II Square)

Take in the sights while enjoying a drink.
The Central Square in Trogir is the main square of the old town (also called John Paul II Square) in this little and Venetian-style town, Trogir. Trogir is a charming port city located on the Adriatic Sea in central Dalmatia. The fact that it is worth coming here is proven by the fact that the old town is included in the UNESCO class of monuments. It is surrounded by several prominent buildings such as the Loggia and Clock Tower. The Loggia, located opposite the Cathedral, used to be a public courtroom. It is notable for its 6 pillars decorated with capitals and two reliefs carved into the wall. Unfortunately, during summer you can't clearly see the pillars since there is a coffee bar just nearby. But what you can see clearly is a relief called The Relief of Justice made by Nicholas Florentino. It is located inside the Loggia and displays a blindfolded woman caring a weighing scale, which is a sign of justice. Above the woman there is inscription Pro Aequitate, Latin expression which means "for equity". Our guide informed us that the blank portion in the middle use to feature the lion of Venice, which was removed after Trogir was no longer under Venetian rule. The Clock Tower stands next to the Loggia and supports a dome salvaged from the Chapel of St. Sebastian. Lastly, the Renaissance Town Hall, a combination of various artistic styles, is another unique addition to the square giving the whole area some grandeur. It is somewhat better known as the Doge’s Palace and shares prominence with the Cathedral. If you have time, give the Town Hall a quick look because it has a beautiful Gothic courtyard decorated with coats of arms from prominent Trogir families, a monumental staircase and a water well carved with the winged lion of St Mark, the symbol of the Venetian Republic. It is also home to Trogir’s Tourist Information Office. You will also find numerous cafes and plenty of tables where you can sit and relax. Trogir is a charming port city located on the Adriatic Sea in central Dalmatia. The fact that it is worth coming here is proven by the fact that the old town is included in the UNESCO class of monuments.

    Trogir’s Heartbeat - Central Square’s Vibrant Charm
Central Square in Trogir pulsates with vibrant energy and serves as the lively heart of this historic town. The stunning architecture, including the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, is a sight to behold, and the square is surrounded by charming cafes and shops. It’s an ideal spot for people-watching and soaking in the local atmosphere. However, the popularity of the square means that it can get quite crowded, which might not suit those seeking a quieter experience. Nevertheless, Central Square is undeniably a hub of culture and activity in Trogir, making it a worthwhile visit for anyone exploring this picturesque town.

Perhaps the most amazing place in Trogir is the main square, surrounded by The Cathedral of St. Lawrence, the Church of Blessed Virgin Marry, the City Lodge, and the City Hall. Its atmosphere is comparable to the most beautiful of European squares. The City Lodge, located opposite the Cathedral, used to be a public courtroom. It is notable for its 6 pillars decorated with capitals and two reliefs carved into the wall.
Near the Lodge, there is St. Sebastian's church with the clock tower. At the entrance to the church, there are two sculptures: one depicts St. Sebastian the Martyr, and the other depicts Christ.
It's worth mentioning a museum of sacral art near the church.
The next building surrounding the main square is the old City Hall. It is a combination of various artistic styles. Today it's the location of the tourist board office.
The square is not particularly big, but it packs a lot in and is a must if you visit this wonderful old town.

The main city square is really quite picturesque with the loggia and church, statues and cafes. Not really something to "visit", you will or sure encounter it as you stroll along the small medieval alleyways that feel like a labyrinth all ending up here.

The most remarquable site, this where you take your pictures.

The square is flanked by the St Lawrence Cathedral, St Lawrence’s church with its unusual clock tower and the Cipico Palace, and it is now home to the tourist information office. The best view of the square can be seen from the top of the cathedral bell tower. But you will need to pay the entrance fee to the cathedral to see this one.
The centre of the square houses tables and chairs from the several cafes and restaurants which are around the square, and is a great place to stop for a coffee or a snack. However be warned that, although not as outrageous as the policy employed in St Marks Square Venice, it will still be the most expensive cup of coffee you have in Trogir.

Although little is actually open in Trogir in the winter, visiting the central square is still worth it. The cathedral with its famous carved doors, are also under restoration so be prepared. Instead, focus on the beautiful clock tower and the ancient columns.

Fabulous area to explore. Lots of shops, restaurants and shops selling gelato. It is very difficult to park in this area. Sometimes we parked on the other side of the bridge by the farmer’s market. Wonderful spot to visit and explore.

Glorious Trogir, Full of history, lovely architecture, narrow streets full of life and character and lovely restaurants. Just along the coast from Split - lovely but probably not in August as I can imagine it would be to full. September was great

Trogir 40 minute bus ride from Split. It is a lovely little town which reminds me a little of Amsterdam with its various canals. Has quite a busy market at the entrance to Trogir across the road from the bus station. The main attraction of course is the fabulous history and architecture throughout the small streets of Trogir and has been designated one of the UNESCO heritage sites. The main square has many lovely buildings with many little streets leading off of it. The promenade is a vibrant area lined with restaurants and small cruise ships moored along the harbour side. Unfortunately the day we were there within seconds and without warning we had a freak storm which seemed like a small sunami but without the sea rolling in. Within minutes many areas were flooded and extensive damage to some of the restaurants. Once the rain stopped this did not deter us from walking around through inches of water to see the town. Managed to find Vanjaka restaurant (has a Trip Advisor award) in one of the back streets. Food was really amazing and good value. When we resumed our visit the sun had come out and brilliant blue sky again. Definately worth a visit.

In season (May-October) there is live music most nights, sourced from all over the place. We went there several nights and danced one night, when the live band was friendly, fun and upbeat. Pavement tables set up by the local bars mean you have somewhere to sit, are never short of an ice cream, coffee or beer.
The square is simply beautiful, and the most romantic place I've ever danced
