Excellent condition as well, the F&B offering at Banyan is probably the best of the lot in Hua Hin. Will be back soon, I hope.Visited April 2023Written April 12, 2023
- Road63422044844Birmingham, United Kingdom5 contributionsGreat test of golfLuxurious looking golf course. All the other courses I played during my time in the Hua Hin area were dry and crispy but this course stood out for looking lush and very green. Very good condition when I played it. The greens were receptive but also very, very fast. I played in a 4 ball but the pace of play was comfortable. Nobody felt rushed at any time. The caddie I was allocated had great course knowledge. I found that it payed off to let the caddie read your puts and they rarely got the line wrong. Plenty of opportunities for a 3 putt though if you were the wrong side of the hole. Course facilities were very good. The only negative thing is that I was served raw chicken in my meal after playing.Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten January 26, 2024

- Alina2012BangkokBangkok, Thailand265 contributionsBanyan yes - Pineapple Valley ( really ?)Banyan Tree Golf Course really delivered an exceptional golfing experience. From luxurious amenities to pristine course conditions, nearly every aspect exudes excellence. The experienced caddies enhance play, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable round. Additionally, the wonderful F&B offerings perfectly complement the experience. However, the recent name change to Pineapple Valley seems a misstep in an otherwise flawless establishment. The name 'Banyan' was synonymous with class and whilst we all understand the ownership dispute on the branding, Pineapple Valley is awful (so many other Thai names that would have represented a premium offering). Suffice to say we didn't purchase any Pineapple merchandise. Overall though, Banyan Tree Golf Course is a really enjoyable destination for any golfer seeking a top-tier experienceVisited February 2024Traveled on businessWritten March 16, 2024

An absolute must when in HUA HIN, you simply wont be disappointed at all. From the moment our bus arrived on the course we were greeted with nothing but smiles, from the check in staff, to the pro shop to the caddies, even a shout out for the canteen girls who are dotted all round the course.. Yes, you pay good money to play here but honestly worth every penny and some
The course of the Blues, was challenging and frustrating at times, but hey that’s golf. Collectively we have been coming here for 10 years and the condition of this track was great and always has been great, superb fairways, excellent and challenging bunkers, and true greens that will test any level of golfer out. Certainly got hold of me
Had lunch in the main area after our round and again were not let down, service with a smile, efficient and more than cost effective, quality of the food excellent, overall selection of food was also very good
We were lucky enough today to meet the GM of Banyan after our round and got to personally say thanks to him, with him and the enormous effort of his tireless staff that this Golf Course has to be on your list of courses to play when you are in HUA HIN Thailand, as a golfer you will not be disappointed with this experience
Keep up the good work, and see you soon 🏌️♂️🏌️♂️🏌️♂️

Just had a round there yesterday after my last time 5 years ago. The course is still absolutely beautiful and challenging . More importantly, the course is very well maintained...fairways and greens are still in pretty good shape. I still high recommend to those who want to have a nice round of golf in Hau Hin. This month, the green fee is 50% off as part of Hau Hin Golf festival, same as Black Mountain.

Over the past years I have played nearly all golf courses in and around Hua Hin and I do not hesitate to rate Banyan as the best course in Hua Hin. Good varied lay out, super well maintaned, excellent club house and super friendly staff/caddies makes this an absolut must play for golfers visiting Hua Hin. I will for sure be back here next time in Hua Hin.

This is simply one of the best golf courses in Hua Hin.
It’s not an easy course and you have your challenges even when you are on the on green .
We were so lucky that we had two awesome caddies on our first of 5 rounds and we booked them for all the rounds (190 + 191) . My caddie simply took over and handed me the club that she wanted me to use, it was not up for discussion and no need to as she was right on.
The caddies also had humor so it was a blast, had their language skills been better it would have made it even better.
This course is in my book ranked joint first with Black Mountain.

Course is in best condition I can recall in recent years, excellent playability and currently not crowded, making your game really enjoyable. Excellent service by email for bookings, team always very helpful and accommodating. Good discounts can be accessed. Currently are removing lots of overgrowth between some of the fairways, which will give better visibility.
White or Blue tees, both challenging and overall great playability with some very good / tougher challenges on certain holes. Shuttle service is complimentary and very helpful staff in all areas. Club has a welcoming feel, guest friendly and fantastic change rooms, showers and after game refreshments with lovely serene views. Enjoy.

We went for lunch after hitting some balls on the driving range.
My wife has shell seafood allergy and cannot take oyster sauce in her food. She clearly told the waitress not to put oyster sauce in her dish. The waitress acknowledged.
The food was delivered by a different waitress so we asked her to check no oyster sauce.
The waitress again confirmed no oyster since.
We asked the manager third time to reconfirm. He did so - no oyster sauce.
After my wife had 4 spoons, the manager came by to plead “misunderstanding” and said there was indeed oyster sauce in the food.
What about the previous 3 times? Clearly, there is lack of customer care or appreciation of how serious allergies can be.
We got lots of sorrys but I had to make sure I am near a hospital in case my wife showed reaction.
So we left immediately.
But how can anyone be sure what goes on in the food behind doors. If they are so careless about customer health, they should not be allowed to operate.

300 baht is generally the minimum. If you got great service 500 is not unreasonable.

Hi Dianne, I note the response already provided and concur. As an aside we always book through Golf Asia, who arrange pick up tee times green fees etc. I hope that is if help for you.
Cheers

Is there a place we can rent golf clubs while staying in Hua Hin? We would need clubs for two or three rounds over the course of ten days. Thank you

Yes Hua Hin Golf Villas Soi 41 just off the main road. They rent clubs as well as do the booking for the Golf course in and around Hua Hin. +66-32-531392-6. It is also a nice place to stay and they have the buses that transport you to the gold courses as well.

Has anyone played at the 3pm tee time which is offer at a discount?

If you are playing 9 holes fine but I can't imagine you could complete a full round in 3 hours and enjoy your golf. You'd be sprinting from tee to green and have no time for breaks (and you'd probably get stuck behind a 5-ball). It would be so frustrating - through in the heat and humidity and the short breaks and... bingo; you might as well just go and book yourself into hospital and save the green fees.

Victor, you can find all the pricing you require on the clubs website . You can also book & pay directly in advance via the website, often at discounted rates. The course is more expensive that others in the areas, but the quality of the course & services make it great value for money. Discounts are given for "twilight golf", which start after 3pm.

Has anyone booked through an agent, e.g. "golfofsiam" they said they have got my tee times for a couple of Hua Hin golf courses during the Chinese New Year period (Feb 5th-12th) but asked for credit card details and payment. Not very comfortable with that.

Our party of 12 used Golf of Siam (Jittima) and got exactly what we wanted, transport from airport, Hotel, daily transport to courses, green fees and caddy fees etc included. No issues, Jittima is very helpful and fluent in English and we will definately use Golf of Siam again. Your credit card is safe with them. Send them an email and ask Jittima any questions.
As far as courses go, we rated Black Mountain by far and away the best course, Banyan a close second (but play off blue tees as its a very short course). Those are the only 2 'International Standard' courses but, if I was playing more than these two, SeaPines is nice and then Springfield or Palm Hills. Majestic Creek and Hua Hin Royal are those I would give a miss.

We are staying in the Amari, Hua Hin. We want to play Banyan and some other courses. Would a taxi take us there and would it be very expensive? I am not sure whether we should book through a golf company who would transfer us too.

Banyan will probably pick you up in their shuttle, and return you, many services, just 15 to 20 minutes away..they run the free shuttle to and from the course every hour or ninety minutes..allow time for a shower at banyan, cool down, enjoy the food and drinks, it's a view and course to die for and very friendly, being a members club who welcome the public. Ring the pro shop, they will help
