This was a fascinating ruin! It even had a brail map.To think I was seeing excavations of a Roman settlement!

We only visited the outdoor (undercover) area which has some great Roman and 14th century walls.

A number of bilingual signs are spaced around.

Some nice excavated items in the street level rooms.

Interesting that all this was only discovered following the WW2 reconstruction

I visited this museum, with its objects and statues of historical value. Still, to me the best part of it is the location, the Carmelite monastery it is hosted in.

This is a terrific museum but keep in mind that the signs are only in German. I loved the artifacts that were selected for display.

Somewhat tucked away is this very nice museum that has a little bit for any enthusiast lover of history. We visited during the wine and gold exhibit... very interesting.

The only challenge for most foreign visitors is that the majority of placards are only in German. A visit here is a nice way to spend a couple hours.

This museum has an excellent collection of artifacts and also some models. Unfortunately for those of us who do not read German, very little of the signage is in English. There is a small handout in English. Still, the collection is worth viewing. Gift shop and clean restrooms.

You can find the museum very easily with city map. The entrance fee is free for chieldren. Normal person is 7 EUR but if you have a city card the fee is %50 discount. The museum shows historical materials from the begining of humanity and development of religions and history. I think the museum should visited.

Set in an old church, and next to (but separate from ticket wise) a similar museum, this place doesn't have much to shout about. A large exhibit hall and some smaller display cases dotted about does not make this a very exiting way to spend time in Frankfurt. We spent as long as we did due to the temporary Lego constructions, which we played with our daughter. Not really overpriced at 7 EUR per adult, but without a hook like the Lego idea, pretty pointless.

My son and I were happily surprised at the quality and accessibility of the items on display. It's not an extensive museum -- we spent a little over an hour there -- but it had some interesting and unique items from daily life. There were other parts of the museum that appeared to require an additional ticket but we didn't go in there. Probably should have, but by the time we were done with the main area, my son had checked out. :)

This special exhibition, running until early Feb 2019, is a fantastic surprise. It features archaeological finds from digs in Georgia, including a funeral chariot from a burial mound. There is less gold and wine than the title of the exhibit might lead you to expect, but the whole is still very much worth seeing. You get a true sense of everyday life in Georgia, several thousand years before Christ. Most of the exhibit is captioned in both German and English, unlike the rest of the museum (although the rest is still very interesting). The museum is closed on Mondays.
