Please visit this humble church in daylight - allegedly the windows are gorgeous.

At night, Eglise Saint-Maximin reminds more of a waiting room for bus passengers than of a dignified church, sorry to say.

Please see enclosed photo if you don’t believe me.

This historic church may seem like most others of the era when viewed from an architectural point of view, but the real reason you should visit this church are the windows! Filled with swirling images in hues of blue, orange and purple they're a delight to see!
I went in the afternoon and sadly the sun was at the front of the church by that time, I would suggest trying to visit it before 11am.

We were directed to our parking spot and thought he was an attendant. He was a pan handler and only one of many that hang around this amazing icon. The building itself was like several others we saw in France and we were amazed at the architecture and the windows. We walked around the inside which was cool on a very hot day.

You'll need to use your google maps to find this self effacing church from the street entrance - but it's worth stepping inside just to see the fantastic stain glassed windows designed by Jean Cocteau. Stunning and you won't be elbowing other tourists out of the way. Sublime.

A little bit off the typical tourist track this small church is most renowned for its stained glass windows designed by Jean Cocteau. The church is very and it is a great refuge to stop for a moment and reflect a bit.

This site was on the Michelin walking tour and was promising based on the Jean Cocteau stained glass windows described in the guide.

We visited late afternoon on a Sunday hoping to avoid worship services. Unfortunately, their was a concert rehearsal for a major event that evening and not available. We were unable to visit the next day due to tour schedule.

This church is nothing special, except for the incredibly beautiful windows designed my French poet Jean Cocteau.
Worth a short visit.
