    Fascinating and unique museum
This museum is absolutely fantastic and unique with its many photographs from around 1860! Being able to see Polperro men, women and children photographed at work, outdoor knitting etc is fascinating! Also you are introduced to the many patterns of the "fishing-frocks"/guernseys - you can buy a book describing these as well as the life of the pioneer photoprapher in the small museum book shop.

Don't leave Polperro without a visit here
Like so many small museums this was excellent.Great range of exhibits which really tell the story of the town.2 staff on duty, both local and so keen to help and add detail and colour to the visit.£3 for adults, under 16 free so great value. This museum deserves our support. In keeping the town's history and heritage alive it does an invaluable job. Thank you!

    Fascinating local museum
The museum is situated at a picturesque site by the harbour overlooking the village. Staff were warm and friendly. The museum is full of recent and 18th/19th century local history. Accounts of a marooning in the Caribbean, devastating village flooding and women knitting waterproof smocks for Polperro fishermen stand coherently side by side. We learned about local figures and place names that persist today. Excellent curated display. The coffee shop out side overlooking the harbour made the visit perfect.

Visiting Polperro today with my kids and we stopped in to have a look around the museum, it’s quite small but packed with exhibits and information. £3 for an adult and under 16s are free. We were only there for 20 minutes as it wasn’t really for the kids and was quite hot indoors but the museum has enough there for an hour if you look at everything properly.

A great little museum, only £3 for adults and it said kids go free . Spent about 30 mins looking around, great display of old photos and lots to read, if you wanted too. Was ok.

Very reasonably priced at £3 per person but a fair price as only very small (you could take just 20 mins to go round). Would benefit from a professional curator in my view as so much stuff and far too much text, including hand written words which is also hard to read. Definitely some little gems in there if you are particularly interested in fishing or the local genealogy. Has a nice cafe attached with seating that overlooks the harbour. We didn’t go in but was busy, as was the whole of the village.

Due to current restrictions museum is closed. The forecourt outside has a few table and chairs for use by the coffee shop. Everything served in paper cups /plates. Not the best, toasted tea cake was cold, sausage roll so hard think it had been in the heater from yesterday. Also, did not see anyone cleaning the tables down once customers left and no staff wearing masks/shields. Unfortunately the toilets are the other side of the harbour.

Fantastic museum in the heart of the lovely fishing village of Polperro. Lots of display items that help to tell fascinating stories of fishing, pilchard packing, smuggling, floods and WWII Home Guard. Nice tea room too.

We called for an afternoon in Polperro on our way to Truro. Polperro itself is very pretty. The café was just doing takeaway service with tables outside overlooking the harbour. We ordered crab and prawn sandwiches which came in a cardboard box with crisps and a salad garnish. The sandwiches were in lovely grainy bread and were packed with filling. We had a lovely time sitting watching the world go by whilst enjoying the lovely tasty sandwiches. The staff were friendly and were cleaning things down as best they could in an outdoor area. Definitely recommend the crab sandwiches here.
