About
The crashing waters of Niagara Falls—comprising two American falls and one Canadian—are truly a sight to behold. Get up close on a boat ride (be prepared to get soaked!), enjoy amazing aerial views from the Skylon Tower or on a helicopter tour, stroll along the White Water Walk, or hit the Journey Behind the Falls attraction that offers views of the falls from below and behind. Adventure seekers can also go zip-lining, jet-boating, hiking and cycling with the falls as the backdrop. For a truly magical experience, stay after dark when the falls are illuminated. For peak water flow, visit between June and August. – Tripadvisor

- Jess J70 contributionsNatural Wonder - StunningStunning! You cannot conceptualise how much water and power is in the falls unless you have seen it first hand. I went in March 2023 and the weather was still extremely cold with the odd flutter of snow. The water volume is reduced due to the water freezing, however the power is still amazing. I’d love to see them in full operation in summerVisited March 2023Traveled soloWritten March 19, 2023
- Andreia Walker3 contributionsMagnificent Niagara falls!Absolutely amazing Niagara falls! If you had any doubts like me, don't think twice. It's so beautiful and powerful, no matter how much I'd try to describe it I couldn't find the right words, just breathtakingly beautiful force of nature. You have to see it to appreciate it!Visited March 2023Traveled with familyWritten March 28, 2023
- Gwynneth S2 contributionsAmazing! This was totally an amazing experience. We purchased the Wonders Pass ahead of time. We were able to do all of the attractions on the pass and it included WEGO and the funicular up and down the hill. Great deal considering that it cost about the same as just doing journey behind the falls and the power plant.Visited March 2023Written March 30, 2023
- sam107Brooklyn, New York395 contributionsViews of the American and Canadian WaterfallsCame up to Toronto to get a real taste of winter being we were snowless in NYC for the entire winter until the last day of February. While in Toronto I took the Flix bus down to Niagara Falls. This was the day after the heavy snowfall that covered much of Southern Ontario. Surprisingly the weather was mild. Beats being around too much of a summer crowd.Visited March 2023Traveled soloWritten March 31, 2023
- helenduvall47London, United Kingdom56 contributionsHold your breath! There arn't enough words to describe this awe inspiring experience. We stayed in the Embassy Suites which had incredible views of the falls but nothing beats seeing them up close and personal. From the funicular cable car, at a cost of 7 dollars return, it takes you directly into the hydro building. Inside, as well as some really nice souvenir shopping, the clothing is particularly nice quality there is a good food court and a really nice restaurant with views onto the falls. ZIp line experiences are also available to puchase along with a guided behind the scenes tour of the falls. Try not to miss either. As you leave the building you are confronted by the panoramic view of the Canadian horse shoe falls, so vast and deep it takes your breath away. The mist of the pounding water not only lies at the bottom of this bubbling cauldron but rises and hugs you with a gentle misting of what feels like a light rain. As you get to the low railing, the fact that there is no other protection from the water pouring into the chasm below, reminds you to take great care taking photos and not to climb onto the wall surrounding it. Looking to the left you see the lesser American falls, still beautiful but diminished in size by it's larger more ebullient sister. However rainbows often form here and we were lucky enough to see a double one stretching from one side to the other. Just as the aptly named rainbow bridge next to it, joins America and Canada at its border. Facing you across the divide you see the American city of Buffalo as another reminder. Looking down into the great Niagara river with its swirling torrents various birds such as cormorants dive into the deep whilst seagulls take their turns to bathe in the mist. Talking of that try a Maid of the Mist boat tour. It takes you within yards of what feels like danger, as you are lightly buffeted and tossed in the water pounding down the cliffs. Don't worry they provide raincoats. Overall just a wonderful experience. Enjoy one of nature's wonders, it won't disappoint!Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 13, 2023
- AgentAndreaOmaha, Nebraska177 contributionsBUCKET LIST-Go you will be happy you did!!!!So glad I brought my passport to get over to Canada and view the falls. Both sets are gorgeous, but Canada really has some amazing views. I encourage you tot take a tour in the tunnels as some day I fear they wont be open. The history is amazing. Make sure you convert some money as it was easy for vendors to not give change back correctly. So use a cell phone app to help. Get your stamp at the border n the way in! Have fun! Wish I had more time and will try and get back soon!Visited November 2022Traveled on businessWritten April 14, 2023
- Anne AAtlanta, Georgia302 contributionsFun, Fun, FunAn absolute must when visiting Niagara Falls Canada is taking the Hornblower Cruise. It was less than 30 minutes duration, but worth every minute. The falls themselves are spectacular viewing from the land, but getting on the boat, wearing your poncho to not get soaked was a lot of fun. The boat runs every 30 minutes, so lots of opportunities, with limited waiting. Currently they are not doing the fireworks at night, so only day time cruises are available.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 14, 2023

There are a lot of other activities related to the fall that we tried and most of them were great. One of the best places to visit in my mind. However, the restaurants around are quite expensive and most of the activities close around 6, which feels early.Visited April 2023Traveled with familyWritten April 18, 2023
- LoJo466Bayville, New Jersey393 contributionsThis is the side….You want to be on. And stay at embassy suites falls view by Hilton. Don’t look no farther, choose the Canadian side. You can easily walk across the bridge n explore the US side, it’s only a half an hour away. Go for it! You got this.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 25, 2023
- Jane NLondon, United Kingdom970 contributionsA Must SeeIt's a fantastic sight, the amount of water going over the falls is tremendous. You must also do the boat which goes right up to the falls - you will get wet! However, you get up and close to the American Falls as well. The town itself is tacky but the area around the Falls is lovely. Take your time to look around and view the Falls from different places.Visited September 2022Written May 5, 2023

Visited Niagara Falls during the holiday season. The Falls were beautifully lite up at night as was the walkway along the Falls. Must stop at Tim Hortons for a cup of Joe or hot chocolate to warm you up. The WEGO buses were great for getting us around when we were to exhausted to walk. Highly recommend the Winter Wonderland pass, gives access to most Tourist activities at a reduced cost.

We took a family day trip to The Falls since it had been 15 years since our last visit. Many beautiful upgrades have been made to the attractions and much effort was made to keep people safe...regular sanitizing, masks required to be worn when indoors, physical separation etc. Found inexpensive parking at the Skylon Tower and was able to walk where we wanted to visit. A picnic under a tree was followed by a visit to the Falls themselves, which is always breathtaking. We did the Journey Behind The Falls which was affordable for the amazing experience of getting up close to the massive waterfall. Next up was a trip to Clifton Hill, since we had a 10 year old with us. Guinness Museum was overpriced even witha CAA discount, masks and gloves were required. Dinosaur Golf was a blast, fun atmosphere for all ages and very inexpensive. FYI...print off any online coupons, the attractions were not accepting the online code version. The Sky Wheel was a great reprieve from the heat, air conditioned cars that were sanitized between uses give a great view of the Falls and the surrounding area, plus a nice, long ride. Great, but pricey dinner at Ruby Tuesdays, then a visit to the Hershey store. All in all a fantastic day. Not too crowded, and everyone seemed to be delighted to enjoy the fun attractions of the area. Some indoor attractions/restaurants are still closed, but most are open for business!!

Fun times visiting one of the world's greatest natural wonders. We stayed for 3 nights in January and one night in February, at the Oakes Hotel. We both live within a 2 hour drive in the GTA, but it never ceases to amaze me how wonderfully fun and romantic this city is. We visited the Bird Sanctuary, The Greg Frewin Magic Show w/dinner, the Fallsview Casino, and the Arcade in Clifton Hills. On another visit, we saw the Conga Show and stayed at the Oakes Hotel again. We ate at the casino buffet, Remington's, Applebee's and IHOP.
I bought the coupons ($10 for $20 discount on food for 2 people) for IHOP from Groupon. I suggest you pass on this because it's still too expensive to eat there after the discount. Either go to Tim Hortons for breakfast or use the included Applebee's breakfast from a meal voucher from your hotel. Can't wait to visit in the summer.

Beautiful Falls! We took the behind the falls tour. It is priced at a very reasonable rate. The lower deck was closed due to weather, however, you do get to view the falls up close and personable through an opened window and opened area. You can feel the power of the falls vibrating the walls of the tunnels. The water is a beautiful color that is due to the minerals that are in it. Make sure to bring your camera for great photo opportunities. There were a lot of people on the day we visited but we were still able to go through in a short period of time so it is not an all day event.

We stayed within walking distance and walked to and around the falls twice while we were there. Being the second week of January ,the was no crowd to speak of. The falls/river were not iced over but all the fencing around was coated. It was an 8 hour drive from vermont but it is worth the drive, espically with the lights on at night so pretty,so powerful!!

My wife and myself live in Brampton about 1 hour and 20 minutes away from the falls and we often visit the falls as we enjoy the walk along Niagara Parkway watching the American and Canadian Falls.
When you get along the Canadian Falls you often get a nice mist that keeps you cool and slightly wet, which is amazing on a Hot Day. You simply can never get bored of the falls... well if you stay for more than 3 days you might as you seen it to many times day after day lol! 2 days max is good.
If you want to pay for premium food restaurants and want the experience than Clifton Hills and Victoria Ave will give you that. Just come knowing your budget will need to be a few hundred dollars per day for 2 people.
If you want a discount trip with experience I recommend the restaurants and outlets down Lundy’s Lane past on or after Drummond Rd. That will save you a few hundred dollars.
I also recommend a trip to Niagara on The Lake... a good intersection is Queen St and King St. If you google it you will find it. Spectacular views and shops here. Great place to hang out if you stay for a few days.
Cheers!

I went during covid times, so all business along the Falls were closed.
If you go while still there is daylight, you can see the birds swaying in the wind. At night, they become shining particles, burning on and off.
Unforgettable the first time that you saw the falls at night, the brilliance of
the lightning and the colorful haze sync to create an atmospheric place to breathe.

Absolute must for everyone. I think these falls are one of the most beautiful sights in the whole country. Go early morning at sunrise, when the air is so fresh and the area is not crowded yet. Make sure to take a boat ride into the falls, and heads up for starbucks goers, the prices are quite a bit higher than locations outside falls area.

The tumble of the water over the falls was mesmerizing. Part of me had to resist the urge to leap over the lip along with all that water. The view is free and open to the public, but if you want to park nearby, prepare to pay a premium. If you are OK with walking a bit, it gets cheaper further away.

Visited recently at the beginning of January 2020 and even though it was cold we wrapped up warm. The views and falls are stunning I’ve been here on several occasions and always enjoy my stay. Lots of nice places to eat and loads of activities and attractions I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Is there any restrictions on visiting from the USA now? What is the closest airport?

You need your passport I do know that ,be prepared for a series of questions starting with: how many people are with you and what is the reason to the visit. Their restrictions are soely on :alcohol, weapons, drugs and humans not mentioned in first question with documentation. If you go to other provinces in Canada you may need to have a French language book or translator to assist you. Ottawa Mcdonald- Cartier airport is your best bet In my opinion due to familiar names in Canada to be honest because, my husband and I drove up to Canada and up to Toranto from New York.

How would I get to St. Catharines from Niagara Falls and then back on public transportation?
I am planning a trip to Niagara Falls for the summer. I would be coming from the US side, so would be able to walk across the Rainbow Bridge to get into Canada. I saw that the #40 and #50 buses go between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, but-
1. Can I pay with cash (I'm sure I can find somewhere to convert USD to CAD) or do I need a specific card?
2. How do I get from the bridge and from the Falls themselves to the Niagara Falls bus station without a car? On Google, it looked like it was a 15 minute drive away.
3. Similarly, where I want to go in St. Catharines is not right next to the bus station there; would my regular Uber or Lyft app that I use when I'm in the US still work when I'm in Canada?
