you can see the whole aquarium from the outside because it's wall are made of glass--it basically shows some fish and crustaceans--this is really geared towards young children

The aquarium at Tregastel is set into the boulders, using them within the tanks inside. There are interesting displays of shore fish, crabs and starfish as well as deep sea fish. An excellent place to visit if it's raining or cold.

We had a quick visit to this modest aquarium. We liked that exhibits were integrated into boulders and surrounding landscape. The entry fee was 23 Euro for our family of four. The most interesting exhibit included the fish with legs. Seriously, check it out.

This is a great little aquarium - it is small but there’s a lot going on in each tank and lots of things you’ll only notice if you take time to really look.

I really enjoyed the profusion of hermit crabs, the rays hiding in the sand and the particularly large lobster. The children (3 and 7) were very happy with the experience.

I love this aquarium, it is not one of the huge commercial ones but it has a totally unique personality of it’s own being built in between and under the huge pink granite boulders that the area is famous for. It is both entertaining and educational, all the sea creatures are from the local area and are very well looked after and displayed. It’s a good value trip, perfect for keeping the kids busy on a wet afternoon.

Wasn’t sure about coming here due to the large number of negative reviews.

It was a lot better than expected and taking out time looking at all the exhibits it took us a little over 1 1/2 to go around.

If you don’t want to read about the fish and habitat and if you don’t want to watch the fish to see their behaviour maybe aquariums are for you.

As for the cost - it cost €23 for over 90 mins compared to £50 to go to The Deep in Hull and that only takes an hour longer. To got to Nausicaa Centre National De La Mer in France we would have been looking at €85+ - so it is good value

This is a funny little place - it's not huge by any stretch of the imagination, but it is really in an amazing location (built into and around the large rocks so typical of this coast line), and it's really interesting. But for us what really set it apart was the passion and enthusiasm of the staff. As we looked round, they kept coming up to us and explaining what everything was and showing us things that we hadn't spotted. They also allowed us to leave and come back to have our lunch in their picnic garden (which has a tented area for when the weather is bad). I have no hesitation in recommending this place - especially if you have children and need to occupy them when the weather isn't great.

If you are used to massive aquariums such as the sea life centres in U.K., you might be disappointed, but you would be missing out on a real treat. The three different exhibits are well set out, with enough information to make sense of the selection of local fish. A very helpful member of staff found us a leaflet in English and made sure we understood what there was to see. This was a great way to spend some time out of the sun.

Relatively expensive for an half an hour aquarium tour. Really small, the place but also all the fish and fishtanks. Not worth the money (for us at least).

Not a bad little aquarium. Very well presented in amongst some of the cote d’armor red granite rocks. Children loved it.
