Hidden aquarium in Shima, worth the visit as you cannot see the special fish they have elsewhere ! (and I did Tokyo, brisbane, sydney, creta in greece, 'sapporo' aquariums).

So I have many experience to say it is not the best but worth to go.

I did it also on rainy day and the price is correct. You can find discount voucher in many hotels lobby.

This aquarium is worth stopping by if you are in the area if for no other reason than to see the unusual fish varieties. I saw many many species that I’ve never seen at other areas, including a very small angel like fish, perhaps only a millimeter long. This is a very family oriented attraction.

Pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see here. Felt bad for the sea animals being in such cramped conditions though but it was amazing to see Sunfish for the first time. It was also extremely quiet so we had the whole place to ourselves.

It was a small place and take at most 1.5 hrs. First, you should know the schedule of the performances so that you could visit all as they are just closed by.

There where a lot of ocean creatures including lobsters and stinray for us to touch and you could fish crabs too.

Should have this one together with boat trip as they are just nearby and could have package deal.

The aquarium is not too big to walk but you can find the welcome penguins, ocean sunfish, jellyfish inside. The Doctor fish is amazing, you can touch them by your hand in pool & experience the fish eating your dead skin.

Entrance ticket is JPY 1400 yen for adult, JPY 600 yen for kids (6-12yrs)

Nice park with reasonable price in Shima.

The highlights of this small aquarium are the penguins, the pearl diver demonstration, and the big sunfish (Manbou). I would recommend this place for families with elementary school aged children. It is a small aquarium so it will only take an hour or so to visit.
